Heinrich & Co.s Coronado pattern was patented in 1937, just two years before WWII making each surviving piece a rare slice of pre-war European porcelain history.
Many Coronado pieces bear a Czechoslovakia backstamp because Bohemian factories produced porcelain for H&C under export law a detail that firmly places them in the pre-war 1930s era.
Oval platters like this were the centerpiece of formal dinners, often used for roasts or carved meats.
